In 2016, the main CSIC contribution in the budget is in personnel expenses (approx. 90 %), although it has decreased 11 % since 2009. The income from the Severo Ochoa action and UE projects compensate the decrease of contribution from the CSIC. Therefore, in 2016 we have a similar budget than in 2009, nearly 12 M€, being 40 % non-competitive, and 60 % competitive.

The five research lines of the Institute have achieved competitive funding in the many project calls, including European H2020 projects, national and regional projects.
